Urd, Urid, Aalad, Uddachi Dal उडदाची दाल, Ulathamparuppu, Minapa Pappu , Uddina Bele ಉದ್ದಿನ ಬೆಲೆ Split Black lentil, also known as Split Black Matpe Beans or White Urad Dal is used for making Urad Dal as main dish, or for making batter for variety of Indian recipes like Vada, Imarti, Dosa & Idli etc.

Urad dal is very easy and quick to make and the addition of different tadkas makes this dal very flavourful and delicious. White urad goes well with tandoori roti, Missi roti (Black chick peas flour roti) and Naan.
This Urad Dhal retains the characteristic texture of the dal and the organic freedom from pesticides and additives.
In south India, urad dal is used as a seasoning with mustard seeds for curries and making various dishes such as Idli, Dosa, and Vada.
