Balti Curry Paste – Patak’s, 283g

Balti currys were originally prepared using a typical thin wok called 'balti bowl'. Our balanced blend of 11 spices captured in oil for a deep, rich, authentic flavour.


A Balti is a really tasty and tangy curry – traditionally prepared and served in a Balti dish (hence its name), and with Naan for dipping. Our tasty Balti paste combines herbs & spices such as coriander, cumin, turmeric, chilli, pepper and garlic for a really authentic tasting dish. And by the way, it tastes just as great when you make it in a regular saucepan. Directions (Serves 4): In a pan fry 2 mediium sized chopped onions. Add the Balti curry paste and 600 g diced meat (chicken, lamb, beef). Add 400g diced tomatoes, 200 ml water. Cook it at medium heat, covered. Serve with coriamder leaves.

Patak’s Balti Spice Paste captures the mixed essence of eleven aromatic spices, including garlic, paprika, and cumin with the deep, and rich oily flavour. It can be made into an excellent marinade if combined with plain yogurt, which can be used in meats for baking, barbecuing or grilling.
