Lovage seeds are traditionally used as a digestive aid, Lovage seeds are well known for relieving abdominal discomfort due to indigestion in Ayurveda. Lovage seeds add a complex aroma and flavour to the soups and curries.
The multiple flavours though probably explains why we have so many names and confusions for this wonderful seed – Ajwain, ajowan Trachyspermum ammi, also known as Ajowan caraway, bishop’s weed or carom is different from lovage seeds
