Thanjavur, also known as Tanjor is a city in Tamilnadu, which is known as bowl of rice. Thanjavur rice is grown in the Thanjavur region. Thanjavur ponni raw rice is a high quality medium sized grain which has high carbohydrate content, and contains part of the husk keeping natural fibers intact. Thanjavur rice is light and aromatic and is medium-grained variety. Once cooked, this rice gives a bright white colour and expands in length.
